Preschool children at Bright Horizons North Cheam Day Nursery in Sutton have been getting into the community spirit by sharing the organisation’s colours.
Last month, the children delivered hand-painted canvases of the Bright Horizons sunrise, as well as biscuits, to businesses throughout the local community.
Nursery Manager Sarah Burge said doing so was part of the ‘Understanding the World’ initiative, which offers children guidance and opportunities in getting to know their surrounding community and physical world.
“The children were delighted to meet members of the local community and talk about their nursery and their fantastic drawing,” said Burge. “The highlight of the trip was meeting several police officers, who kindly spoke to the children about their role and let them try on some of their hats.”
