Children at Bright Horizons Active Learning Finchley Nursery have celebrated the Rio 2016 Olympics by taking part in their own sports day, also part of the organisations Active Athletes programme.

The children competed in a number of track and field events including javelin, long jump, shot put and an obstacle course. The end of the day was marked with the release of a group of butterflies that the children had watched hatch.

“The children have thoroughly enjoyed the day and have been captivated by the Olympics,” said Poppy Hinton, nursery principal. “We are delighted we were able to turn that into themed physical activity.”

Bright Horizons’ Active Athletes learning approach aims to provide children with physical activity opportunities throughout the course of the day.
