Didsbury Children Create Own Olympic Opening Ceremony

Didsbury children create own Olympic opening ceremony

Date: 09 Aug 2016

Children at Bright Horizons Didsbury Day Nursery and Preschool have been getting into the Olympic spirit by creating their own version of the opening ceremony.

The children made a model Olympic torch, as well as a number of paper plate hats with patterns on them to represent flags of the different countries.

Throughout Rio 2016, the children will also take part in a range of sporting events at the nursery, as part of Bright Horizons’ Active Athletes programme.

“The children have become engrossed in the Olympics Games and were excited to take part in their own opening ceremony,” said Tracy Wrigley. “They are looking forward to more sporting events in the weeks ahead.”

Bright Horizons’ Active Athletes learning approach aims to provide children with physical activity opportunities throughout the course of the day.
