Teddies Basingstoke Children Embrace Olympic Spirit

Teddies Basingstoke children embrace Olympic spirit

Date: 31 Aug 2016

Children at Bright Horizons Teddies Basingstoke Nursery and Preschool have celebrated the Rio 2016 Olympic Games by holding their own mini Olympics, as part of the organisation’s Active Athletes programme.

The children made an Olympic torch and chose which country they wanted to represent by making the flag for that country. Physical activity events included the egg and spoon race, sack race and an obstacle course.

“The children thoroughly enjoyed the day and were great in cheering each other on during the sport events,” said Nursery Manager Deirdre Mellors. “They all had a great time celebrating the Olympics and can’t wait for the next sporting events!”

Bright Horizons’ Active Athletes learning approach aims to provide children with physical activity opportunities throughout the course of the day.
