The Great British weather failed to put off the children at Bright Horizons Barrow Day Nursery and Preschool, as they took part in the annual sports day.

After beginning outdoors, the rain meant everyone was moved inside, but that didn’t stop the children who took part in a number of obstacle courses as well as the egg and spoon race.

“We always encourage healthy, physical activity and sports day is a fantastic opportunity for the children to have lots of fun and show their competitive spirit,” said Nursery Manager Leanne Jackson. “The children thoroughly enjoyed the day and showed excellent balance skills during the egg and spoon race in particular.”

The sports day was organised as part of Bright Horizons’ Active Athletes learning approach, which aims to provide children with physical activity opportunities throughout the course of the day.
