Children at Bright Horizons Wishing Willow Day Nursery and Preschool in Banstead have conducted an experiment involving Skittles sweets, as part of the organisation’s Growing Scientists programme.
The children placed the Skittles on a plate in a circle and then added warm water. They then watched as the colours moved into the middle of the plate without mixing.
“The children were amazed at what happened and said all of the colours made the plate image look like a rainbow,” said Nursery Manager Rageena Abbas. “In the future, we will be studying colours more and what colours you can mix together to make others.”
The Growing Scientists programme aims to help children identify scientific activities that occur in their everyday lives.
