Teddies Maidstone children discuss road safety
Date: 08 Jul 2016
Preschool children at Bright Horizons Teddies Maidstone Nursery have taken part in a road safety discussion to ensure their safety in all scenarios.
The discussion involved how to cross the road safely when travelling on foot as well as using the roads.
Bright Horizons health and safety mascot Candy Floss was present to help the children draw roads on the floor with chalk, in order to practise what they had spoken about. Staff also used play mats and cars for the activity.
The children also spoke about different types of road crossing scenarios including with zebra crossings and traffic light signals. They also discussed people who may help us cross the road such as a lollipop man.
The children also used their bikes and scooters to enact the road and also created their own road signs.
“The children had lots of fun talking about and participating in our road safety activities,” said Nursery Manager Lisa Beaney. “They showed strong creative skills when creating their own signs and safety was ensured throughout.”
