Children at Bright Horizons Englefield Green Nursery and Preschool in Surrey have been using pebbles to show off their artistic skills.

The children were encouraged to paint their own patterns on the pebbles and decorate them accordingly, in an activity part of Bright Horizons’ Growing Artists programme.

Staff then showed the children a number of pebbles, gathered from various parts of the country, which displayed a variety of shapes and patterns.

“The children were intrigued to see the different shapes and patterns of the pebbles,” said Alice Blackman, nursery manager. “We were delighted they were able to produce a range of patterns of their own when decorating their own.”

The Growing Artists programme encourages children to be creative in art.
