Fun run raises money for boy with SMA

Date: 22 Jun 2016

Bright Horizons Tabard Square Nursery and Preschool in London recently organised a sponsored ‘fun run’ in order to aid Vinnie, a boy with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1.

The nursery has managed to raise £250 so far, with more sponsorship money due to come in, as the funds are put towards the development of a sensory garden for Vinnie.

Vinnie is the grandson of a close friend to nursery manager Jennifer Gagg, who thanked everyone involved for their support.

“This cause means a lot to us as Vinny is a boy very close to all of our hearts here at Tabard Square,” said Gagg. “Heartfelt thanks to everyone that took part in the sponsored fun run and we look forward to more initiatives to help the creation of the garden in the future.”

Vinnie was diagnosed with the most severe type of SMA just nine weeks into his life and a Go Fund Me account online has already raised more than £8,000. It can be found on the Go Fund Me website by searching “Our boy Vinnie.”

There is also a Facebook page for Vinnie with the same address.
