Children get a special visit from Police

Date: 12 May 2016

Exciting times at Bright Horizons Leeds Day Nursery and Preschool (formally kidsunlimited Tadpoles) on Kirkstall Road West Yorkshire Police paid the children a special visit.

The preschool children have been raising money in conjunction with Cash for Kids and learning about local community real life superheroes.

The nursery team wanted to bring the learning to life a local police officer visited the nursery to talk to the children about the vital role the police play in helping and supporting our community.

They listened intently to the PC's explanations about the many ways in which the police help everyone, and were also given some road safety tips, later on the real fun began as the officers put on the siren, flashed the blue lights and allowed the children to sit in the car or to try on some equipment.

“The nursery want the children to see inspirational real life people in occupations they could aspire to do when they are big,” explains the Nursery Manager, Fiona Stewart. “The children thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to learn about the officer's role, and of course they loved being able to get behind the wheel of the police car and to wear the police hat.”
