Bright Horizons Family Solutions Secures Rospa Gold Award For 5th Consecutive Year

Bright Horizons Family Solutions secures RoSPA Gold Award for 5th consecutive year

Date: 25 Apr 2016

Bright Horizons Family Solutions, which operates over 200 nurseries in the UK and Ireland, has secured a Gold Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for the 5th consecutive year.

Bright Horizons will be presented with the award during a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole hotel on 14th July 2016.  In recognition of their 5th consecutive Gold Award in the prestigious annual scheme, Bright Horizons will also be presented with a Gold Medal Award.

The RoSPA Safety Awards are internationally recognised and have fast become the most sought after accolade by organisations from every sector. This key fixture in the health and safety calendar offers organisations a prime opportunity to prove their ongoing commitment to raising health and safety standards and to be a part of the longest running and most highly respected occupational safety awards programme.

As a leading provider of high-quality care and early education, the award reflects Bright Horizons’ commitment to the safety and wellbeing of the children in their care and of the staff who care for them. In addition to the company’s rigorous safety policies, they also have a formal Keeping Everyone Safe Management Board that supports effective health and safety leadership throughout the business. The structure enables the flow of their health and safety priorities, performance indicators, learning and monitoring to move freely upwards, downwards and sideways within the organisation. A guiding principle of their structure is that everyone retains responsibility for health and safety even if parts of that responsibility are delegated to others.

Lydia Green, general manager at Bright Horizons Family Solutions, said: “As a company we are thrilled to be awarded a RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Gold Award for the fifth consecutive year, as ‘Keeping Everyone Safe’ is our core value and key priority at all times.  This external validation is particularly encouraging and gives due recognition to our ongoing commitment to strengthen our culture of behavioural safety.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events, said: “To win an award at such a highly-regarded event as the RoSPA Awards is a great achievement for our winners. It recognises their commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record and raises the bar for other organisations to aspire to. We offer them our congratulations”.

“This year was doubly special for our winners as their achievements were recognised as the RoSPA Awards celebrated its diamond anniversary, which is a ringing endorsement of the thousands of businesses and organisations that have committed to continuous improvement in accident and ill-health prevention.”
