Chinese Squirrels

The children from Bright Horizons Squirrels Day Nursery at Broadmoor Hospital celebrated Chinese New Year in style.

The children were told that is was the Year of the Monkey, as staff explained the story of the Chinese zodiac and how the Monkey finished in 9th place. To welcome the Year of the Monkey the children dressed up in Chinese, traditional costumes and took part in more Chinese themed activities, from eating noodles with chopsticks to making Chinese lanterns.

The Nursery Manager, explained why the nursery celebrations and festivals from across the world, “The children in our nursery love learning about new countries and cultures,  activities like this encourage the children to build on their natural interest and curiosity of the wider world around them.”
