Teddies Sevenoaks Nursery and Preschool

Day Care Nursery in Kent

Teddies Nursery Sevenoaks is located within a mile of the town centre and Junction 5 of the M25. Our nursery building, which was a former primary school, is set in the popular town of Sevenoaks. It is within walking distance to a main line station which has commuter time of 45 mins into London Victoria. It is also in a conservation area with the beautiful Knole Park just a short drive away.

Our highly-experienced, qualified staff provide exceptional levels of care, ensuring every child’s individual needs are met. We offer a comprehensive ‘Transition into Nursery’ program to ensure parents and children ease into nursery life, which can include visits to parents homes to introduce ourselves to your child.

“Both our children have attended Teddies Sevenoaks and we are very happy with the balanced approach to gentle learning, play and also to learning social skills and behaviours and helping children with big experiences such as potty training, learning to eat independently. Our children have always been happy to go in the morning and I feel they have a rewarding day. We would happily recommend this Teddies to other families.”- Parent at Teddies Sevenoaks

Our baby room is a self-contained unit that offers a home from home environment that enables babies to follow their established routines throughout the day, as well as introducing different experiences such as messy play, music and movement and art and craft, whilst our toddler rooms introduce a more structured approach to little one’s days – our children thrive with flexible routines that allow them freedom of choice. Makaton is also introduced at this level as children are developing their speech quickly and can easily become frustrated. Children with English as an additional language also benefit greatly from learning Makaton.

Pre-school children have access to many extended learning activities, as they begin to prepare for the transition to ‘big school’. At Teddies Sevenoaks, they have their own cooking area, on-going recycling projects, and children’s committee who meet every 6 weeks to discuss ideas for the nursery and school graduations.

“Thank you so much for helping my child move on to being a big boy, soon to be ready for school and giving him so many great experiences and lots of fun too. He has been really happy in your care and very well looked after. Thank you very very much!!!!!!!”- Parent at Teddies Sevenoaks

The nursery’s secure garden provides a safe place for exploration, sensory and physical activities with our play house, climbing frames, and spaces for the children to grow their own plants and enjoy weather experiments. Our children also enjoy regular outings and events like summer picnics, sports days and visits from the mobile farm and local fire department. Annual social events include F.U.D.G.E. day – (male role models), Mother’s Day tea, sponsored walks for the Bright Horizons Foundation For Children and summer barbecues.

Included in Teddies Sevenoaks Nursery fees are branded nappies, wipes or cotton wool, bottles and, should a parent wish, formula milk.

In our recent Ofsted inspection we achieved ‘Outstanding’.

“Children show they feel safe and secure within the nursery. They seem very happy and well settled. Staff provide them with exceptional care and are attentive and aware of the individual needs of each child. They sit with the children either on the floor or at the table. They provide cuddles and hugs as they help children who have just woken up or need reassurance. They talk to them asking open questions and take account of the age and ability of each child. Children show confidence in their own abilities and their language skills are excellent. Staff encourage their developing speech and even the youngest children are skilled communicators”- Ofsted April 2011
