Learning at Home

We want to partner with you in your child’s learning journey – our care and interest in your child doesn’t stop at the nursery doors at the end of the day!

One of the ways we aim to do this is by offering you some ideas and suggestions for activities to try at home, or some advice on typical parenting “dilemmas” – what to do about sibling rivalry or how to instil appropriate restaurant manners for example. You will find articles here on a variety of topics, and these will change throughout the year so you will always have a source of fresh ideas!

Our first article looks at how children learn to count and to appreciate that numbers relate to actual things. Perhaps you remember having to memorise times tables at school and feeling that numbers were boring - well times have changed and numbers can be fun!

We are all concerned about the environment these days, and rising costs give us good economic reasons for re-using and recycling as well. Our second article offers a few fun ideas for "going green" as a family and helping children learn to reduce, re-use and recycle.
