Bright Horizons Balham Nursery is on Balham High Road, a short walk from Balham train station and Tooting Bec Underground Station, from which Central London is just minutes away. The nursery is situated in a beautiful Victorian house, which has recently been refurbished, with well organised, cosy rooms designed so that children feel safe and secure in surroundings that allow them freedom to explore and develop.

Our baby care unit has its own milk kitchen so that staff can access babies’ bottles without having to leave the room, and we ensure that we follow babies’ home routine so that they feel safe and secure. Branded nappies, nappy cream, bottles and, should a parent wish, a formula baby milk of choice are all provided for our babies at no additional cost.

For toddlers and older children, the staff team at our nursery provide well -planned, fun and exciting activities to promote learning across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage. We aim to develop the necessary skills required for later life, giving children a head start on future education through an introduction to subjects like Reading, Writing, Maths, Science and Art.

Balham Nursery is a diverse nursery, with children and staff from a wide range of countries, and our staff team reflects this diverse community. Our staff speak a variety of different languages, benefiting the children in our care - our Spanish Club for pre-school children is taught by a native Spanish speaker who works within the nursery.

Growing Readers is an important part of the activities we offer and this programme develops and enhances children’s love of books and stories. At Bright Horizons in Balham, the Growing Readers initiative even has its own mascot, Rocky the Meerkat.

Fees include all meals and snacks, plus branded nappies, nappy cream, bottles and formula baby milk as appropriate. We do not require a deposit prior to starting at the nursery. All meals are freshly prepared at the nursery by our on-site cook and our menus are planned to provide children with a nutritionally balanced diet throughout the week. The nursery has been awarded a 5 star food and hygiene award.

We are pleased to announce that, at our last Ofsted Inspection, Bright Horizons Balham was awarded a “Good” Rating.
