These values guide us in supporting one another and they reflect the spirit of our company in the important work that we do each day.
Our History
Bright Horizons was founded to provide an innovative solution to the lack of affordable, high-quality, childcare for working families. Our core business and expertise is employer-sponsored dependant care, and we are proud to partner with respected organisations in both the private and public sectors to provide workplace nurseries and childcare programmes; many of our client relationships span over 10 years, a demonstration of the enduring value of our services.
Over the past 20 years we have grown both in terms of numbers of clients and nurseries and also in the range of services we provide. We have opened many more nurseries in the UK and Ireland, offering high-quality childcare to local communities, whilst continuing to work with employers to support their business goals and the dependant care needs of their workforces.
Our unique core business focus has given us insight into the needs of working families and their employers, resulting in some innovation and diversification within our business. We have for example pioneered the provision of emergency dependant care through our back-up care programmes, including the operation of the only dedicated back-up care nursery in Europe for an investment bank in London, and our Back-Up Care Advantage Programme which enables employers to offer employees access to a back-up care network for children and adults.
A Passion for Excellence
We have been recognised for excellence both as a childcare provider and as an employer.
Our nursery network consistently receives a higher than national average percentage of “Outstanding” and “Good” and equivalent judgments at statutory inspections, and we are the only childcare company to have been listed for the last 5 years as one of the country’s top 50 “Great Places to Work” by the Financial Times/Great Place to Work Institute.
Through clear leadership, teamwork and collaborative working we are able to provide consistently high-quality care and education for families, made possible by the commitment and passion of skilled professionals, working in a strong company culture, supported by effective management systems.
The feedback we receive from parents, staff and clients guides our planning for continual improvement and also makes us proud to know that we are providing a valuable service to children and families, and to our clients, as well as offering the best childcare professionals a place to grow their careers.
